Week 02: Basic Shapes Block Out

 


I had an unfortunate time with this block out, and Maya crashing a million times and corrupting my files definitely did not help. I managed to get the base shapes down, but all of my more detailed blocking out was lost, and left some strange artefacts behind that I can't seem to get rid of, specifically around the face. It seems to be an issue that spans across multiple files, despite it being just fine when I saved it initially. This version was the least corrupted. Not sure if any of the lost data is recoverable, but I sure would like to have my block outs back, Maya. :')

Week 02: Modular Environment

For this assignment, we had to follow a tutorial on how to build modular environments using Blueprint Prefabs. I had never used Unreal Engine before (or any real time game engine for that matter), so I was a bit intimidated jumping into a new program, but after the tech art assignment involving populating a scene with pre-built assets and syncing it to Perforce, this seemed a little less daunting.
